Can I have any model I want?

Yes, providing they are a star, celebrity or famous individual. Model Idols currently does not do models of friends or family. The reason for this is that all the models are my artistic interpretations as I see the individual. It is the recognizable features of the famous person that I interpret. Think of how different cartoonists will do a caricature of Margaret Thatcher for example. No two drawings will be the same but we all recognize who it is supposed to be because each artist has emphasized a particular well known feature.

If the model I want is not in the catalogue can you make it for me?

Yes, the catalogue is the Model Idols showpiece collection and is used to demonstrate the range of models I have already created and to give you an idea of who you can order. There are new additions arriving all the time and regardless if your model is featured or not, who you order will be made specifically and exclusively for you.

What if I want a model to be in a different pose from a particular picture?

Absolutely no problem. This is what makes every single model completely unique. When you place your original order you are asked to give a contact e-mail address and it is this that I will use to reply initially to. It will be at this stage that I would ask for a contact number to further discuss the exact model you require including it's pose, clothes and any other details you want.

What if I have a particular picture I want to have created as a model?

All you need to do is send a copy of the picture to me by post or e-mail or tell me the URL to obtain it from the internet. Any pictures sent in the post will be returned at the same time you receive your model.

How do I know my model is completely unique and original?

Every single model created is completely made by hand without the use of any moulds which therefore makes the finished result unique in itself. For example, Bette Davis as Baby Jane Hudson may be a popular choice but different people will want different poses or interpretations and this is why I contact you directly to discuss the exact model you personally require. Even if more than one person wants exactly the same pose of a particular model there will be minor variations due to the very nature of it being handmade, therefore you will have a completely original model. Also, every model comes with its own unique number printed on the base and a certificate of authenticity in the packaging which will prove you own an original one of its kind model.

How long does it take to make each model?

Times can vary but an average length would be between 48 - 72 hours per model, based on working on the model for approximately 8 hours per day.

How long will I have to wait once placing an order and before receiving my model?

Once I contact you, I can give you an idea of how long it will take. Factors to take into consideration are models that are currently being created for other clients but on average I would recommend allowing three to four weeks once the final order is placed and for it to be delivered.

How will I receive my model?

The models may be posted by special delivery or can be collected from my location in Surrey, or in some cases hand delivered. All models sent by post are well packed and padded for protection and sent by handle with care post.

How much does each model cost?

Prices vary from model to model and when I contact you I will inform you of the cost of the model and the postal charges. The average cost is approximately £180 for each individual model. The showpiece collection catalogue gives guide prices for every model featured. Depending on the simplicity, requirements and accessories the price can vary between £160 - £640 and does not include postal charges. Postal charges are extra and are calculated dependant on where the model is to be delivered to. Means of payment will be discussed when you are contacted and you confirm your model.

Do you do discounts for more than one order?

As you will appreciate, every single model is a completely unique piece of art and requires as much attention to detail as all other pieces and therefore it would not be possible to offer discounts on orders. If a particular request includes two or more models on one base then a price would be quoted that may be slightly less than having the same models on separate bases. However, if you were placing bulk and regular orders then I would discuss discounted rates directly with you.
